Floral Crowns for a good cause!

As some of you know, when I am not wielding a camera, I read, I cook, and I am a Mama. One thing I do as a Mom and volunteer is help with fundraising efforts at my kid’s school. For the last few years I have run the Dundee School Auction. It is a huge project I really enjoy.

Every year I donate a photo package, as I do to many of my client’s schools and organizations. This year we did things a little differently, instead of just a family photo session, I worked with my friend & client Shannon to offer a fun class! Shannon taught the attendees how to make beautiful floral crowns and I took photos! It was a beautiful morning that was full of flowers, laughter and fun photos. I loved it! It went so well I will be doing an event like this again soon with Shannon’s school in Portland!

Vista Hill Vineyard was kind enough to host us for the class and photo session.

Mary, Steve & Three Goof Balls!

I love my job.

Through photography I get to meet amazing people, and this last session was a great example. Mary & Steve are super stylish, funny and so sweet.

I will be photographing Mary & Steve’s wedding later this summer. Instead of the traditional engagement session we had a couples/family session. It was such a pleasure to meet Mary, Steve and her three goofballs. The kids were so fun to capture, and man Mary & Steve brought the LOOK!

It was a great morning, and stellar session. I can’t wait for the wedding to do it all over again!

new sample time!

I spent a good chunk of today putting together an order for a few new studio samples.

Whew it is so hard to choose! I tried to get a little of every thing. 🙂

If you want to come in and see the BIG beautiful new samples in a few weeks let me know! I love showing off printed goods. 🙂

Hike it Baby!

A couple weeks back it was my pleasure to help run a mini workshop for a local Hike It Baby group. If you don’t know about them, HIB is a group of parents who is an organization dedicated to getting families together and out into nature. I have participated in a few of the local hikes, and they are always a great time!

This hike we talked a lot about photography fundamentals, and techniques to work with kids. I don’t know if it was helpful to the parents who came, but I certainly had fun!
