Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with Matt & Oralea. As I do with all my wedding couples we were out and about in Portland to shoot some engagement photos. I think it is really important to do these sessions for a few reasons. One they are fun, we usually tromp around and spend most of the time chatting and getting to know each other. Another reason is it is fun to make beautiful images with out the stress and rush of a wedding. I always love doing these engagement sessions, and Matt & Oralea were no exception. This adorable couple was up from San Francisco to do wedding errands so we took advantage of some beautiful Oregon weather and hit the industrial east side. I loved that they were up for anything. Oralea just had one request , that we come away with at least 5 good photos. Well I think we got allot more than that. 🙂

Oralea’s rings are just beautiful, designed by an artisan in San Francisco.

The industrial east side has some wonderful spots to shoot, I love this run down old building.

During our session we talked a lot about the wedding, DJs, dancing, food, cupcakes. Oh how I love cupcakes, I am excited these two share my love. 🙂

We also share a love old buildings with ivy, as Matt said it is “very Portland”.

Oh! and we celebrated national train day apparently, did you know?! After Matt informed me we just had to incorporate the local trains into our session.

After we were done with the trains and old buildings we hit the east side esplanade. Sunset on the river is beautiful, and even better with an adorable couple to capture.

Matt & Oralea thanks again for meeting up with me last weekend. I had a great time with the two of you! I am very much looking forward to your wedding in just a few weeks! Kayla & Jason are throwing a big shin dig in the fall that I am super excited to be a part of! The location, the dress, the flowers, it will all be amazing. Even more amazing is the couple in the center of all of the planning. The ever so lovely Kayla & Jason.Kayla & Jason have been planning a lovely wedding in the pearl for quite some time now, but when a dear family member became ill with out missing a beat they put together a simple and sweet courthouse wedding to make sure he could be a part of their special day. Not every bride would be so flexible with her wedding plans, but Kayla is not every bride. Kayla & Jason are a wonderful couple. It was my honor to be there a few weeks ago to capture their special wedding. We did some photos prior to the courthouse wedding outside in beauful downtown Hillsboro. yes indeed, I am that hardcore lol, I shot a wedding just a few weeks back.

But when you have known the bride since she was 4 years old, and the groom is nothing short of her price charming you just have to. 🙂

Also I was assisted by the lovely, amazing & talented Maricar Lianne, I could not have done it with out her! Some of the images you see in the slideshow were shot by her.

I could go on and one about how wonderful Jaime and William are, but I am about to pop out a baby so I will just show off some of my favorite photos from their big day instead.
