The Thomas Clan: 2017

As many of you know I participate in the planning and organizing of the Dundee School Auction.

It has been really fun over the years to not only help organize the event, but to donate photography services as well.

Last year I donated a full family session, and was delighted when a family I knew purchased it! I have known one side of the T family since our eldest kids were in kindergarten. It has been so fun to watch all the T boys grow over the years, and meet the whole extended family. We have hung out at soccer games, wresting matches, baseball practices and all kinds of school events. When Grandma purchased the photo package I knew it would be a fun session!

We had a great time on a warm fall evening making some beautiful photos.

Amanda & Kyle are married!

Amanda and Kyle found me through my 1K give away earlier this year. While choosing a couple to win the prize I got to know these two. They were smart, funny, and so sweet. I loved they way they spoke about each other, and made each other laugh. I also loved the time we spent on their engagement photos earlier in the summer. I knew this wedding was going to be a fun one.

Though we had to deal with some rain drops, some silly birds and dinosaurs on the dance-floor (ok those were awesome!) it was an amazing day. These two truly put together a day centered around their family, faith and love. It was a pleasure to point my camera at all of it.

Beloved Baby Boy

It was just last month I spent a sun soaked evening with Tessa & DJ. Their maternity session was one of my favorites of the summer.

When baby arrived we made big plans for his newborn session, then had to reschedule due to smoke. Once the weather turned, the fire blessedly stopped, and I got to them, we had a wonderful time! I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with these guys. Their little man was such a pleasure to capture, and they were all so sweet.

Album time!

I LOVE putting together wedding albums.

I look at my job as a storyteller, and having a printed book of that story is the best option. Discs will go bad, hard drives will sit on a shelf, thumb drives will get outdated, but albums will never fade. Albums will be found by grand kids and great grandchildren. Albums will be discovered by future generations. I am pretty sure most generations in hundreds of years will not gush over a hard drive…

It was so fun to get to know Mindy, Ashish, Charlie the wonder dog! We had a great time talking about babies, dogs and the beautiful outdoors. I am really looking forward to working with them once the little one arrives. 🙂
