I first met Lilly & Calder at one of my super fun 2009 weddings. You remember Scott & Bryn at the Mt. Hood B&B right?. I remember thinking “they are adorable, I should slip them a card”. Well a few months later Ms Lilly emailed me asking about 2011 wedding details. We spoke over email and then over the phone, I knew this was going to be a fun wedding after our conversations. Due to her school schedule and my maternity leave we had to wait to meet in person again until this summer, we this past week we did a meeting/Beer/album viewing/engagement session meet up all in one hot summer night. It also cracked me up that one of my current sample album is actually from the wedding of Scott & Bryn, so Lilly & Calder were actually in some of the dancing photos! That is a first. I have to say this couple is FUN, we had a great time laughing (allot) and running around NW Portland. Sometimes couples take a while to warm up, but these two really felt like old friends.
Here are a few of my favorites so far:
Check them out, they are so adorable! Lilly has the most infectious laugh ever, I can hear it now.
These two are fantastic together. I loved the way they interacted, you could tell nothing was forced, they are just totally completely in love. 🙂
That night the Portland weather was HOT HOT HOT, and so were my clients!
I love this one, you can tell Lilly has comfortably rested her head here many, many times.
The light that night was pretty fantastic as well.
🙂
The architecture in NW Portland is fun, a little something different around every corner.
And one last one of our adorable couple. Lilly I know this one is your favorite. Check out the fantastic view we got from the rooftop of a sweet loft building. Thank you to Calder’s mom for letting us access her building for shooting!
Lilly & Calder thanks again for meeting up with me last week. I know the drive from Bend was a long one, I think it was totally worth it! I am so looking forward to your wedding next year, gah a whole year I can wait! I will have the whole set for you very, very soon. For now, you know it is comment challenge time. If you can get 25 people to comment on this little post, you will get an 11×14 on the house. So leave some love folks!

Jenny and I started chatting about her wedding last year before my maternity leave. We made plans to meet and it ended up being just the two of us talking weddings over truffle french fries. One of my favorite ways to get to know people. 🙂 Jenny talked about her wedding, family, how she and Matt met. I was completely enchanted. 🙂 The only piece missing was meeting this specific price charming, you see he was out of town on business and could not make the meeting. So this past week, on a beautiful evening in North West Portland I met up with Jenny and Matt to do some engagement photos. These two are so charming together, it was my pleasure to capture them as a couple in one of their favorite Portland spots.
Here are a few of my favorites so far:
See how lovely they are!
Miss Jenny actually ran/biked/swam an iron man competition just 2 days before out session, impressive right!
The rose gardens have some beautiful paths and old brick work around.
I just love this grand staircase. I do believe there it was Matt’s job to make Jenny laugh, and he did all evening.
The light that evening was beautiful, almost as lovely as our couple.
The way he looks at her here is super sweet.
🙂
After a bit at the Rose gardens we headed down to the PGE park area to catch some city backdrops.
I loved the way the light was coming through the city here. This might be my favorite set.
We also had to use some of the on site sculptures, again I love playing with the light when i have a beautiful couple to work with.
PGE park was super quite that night so we got to roam the front where ever we liked, I loved this ivy covered wall near the front.
Jenny & Matt both have great smiles, it is almost too easy.
weee!
And one last photo before the light left us.
Jenny and Matt thanks for meeting up with me and being up for anything! I am so looking forward to capturing your wedding in just a few short weeks time! I hope you have enjoyed the peek, I will have the rest for you very soon. And of course as new clients you are officially issued a comment challenge. If you can get 25 people to comment on this blog post, you will get an 11×14 on the house.

So the sun has come out in Oregon, and when I say it has come out I mean that it is HOT these days. Not that I am complaining, dear sun I love you! Don’t go away, I can deal with the heat. 🙂
That said we are in the middle of an Oregon style heatwave, we are a few days in now, but back at the beginning of the heat wave I spent the day in Portland doing a few sessions with some super fun people. One of those was with the lovely Monica & Jordon. These two were refereed to my by the uber fun Megan & Matt who were married just last year, so I knew they were going to be fun. Down from Seattle we decided to meet at a cute coffee shop on N Mississippi street in Ptown. You see Jordon has a thing for good coffee and funky little shops, I was of course happy to oblige. So we spent the afternoon walking around the fun artsy district and snapping a few photos. I had a great time getting to know these two better.
Here are a few of my favorites so far:
aww they are so cute right!
The allies of N Mississippi have some of the fanciest drain pipes around, Jordon spotted this one so we had to capture it.
we also hid from the heat in this great parking structure. I just had to capture some silhouette love.
These two are pretty funny together.
We did some laughing did I mention that?
This one might be my favorite, I love Jordon’s smile at his lovely fiance.
We kept laughing and walking, Monica was such a sport in her killer red shoes!
Jordon let his inner goof ball out a few times can you tell?
and one last shot of the lovelbirds. I just adore these two!
Monica & Jordon thanks again for meeting up with me! I will have the whole set for you very soon! Thanks again for being so fun! I even have a little blog challenge for you. If you can get 3o people to comment on this post I will give you a 11×14 wall print on me. Leave some love folks!
