Jenna + Chase = Love

When I first met Jenna & Chase they suggested meeting at their favorite local pub. (Always a good sign šŸ˜‰ On our first meeting we talked for what seamed like ages over good pints of beer and lots of laughter. Chase & Jenna are funny, smart, stylish and so fun to hang out with. I knew their engagement session would be a great time, and they would be wonderful in front of the camera. They did not disappoint. These two have a great & fun dynamic. Chase is classically handsome, and the way he looks at his lady is melt worthy. Jenna, is stunning (hello I am a sucker for the readheads!) and has quite possibly the best laugh ever in the whole world. Her smile killed me the entire evening. Even when the rain started to fall a tiny bit at the end, and we had to navigate around the naked bike ride (uh yeah I love Portland) they had the best smiles to capture. Quite simply, I adored pointing my big camera at these two.

Here are a few of my many, many favorites of the evening.

Chase & Jenna thanks again for meeting me out on the town for our session. I had so much fun working with you two, and can not wait to capture your wedding this fall! I know it will be an amazing event. I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. I am almost done with the whole gallery. For now I would love to offer you a blog challenge. If you can get 30 people to comment on this little blog post I will throw in an 11Ɨ14 wall print on the house. So leave a little love folks.

Stephanie, Jason and alot of laughter

What can I say about Stephanie & Jasonā€™s engagement session? It was a beautiful warm evening with some amazing sun light. We shot in an adorable small town I have been eying for a long time. And we laughed, we laughed allot.

We laughed about small towns, about crazy jobs, and about shoe addictions. We laughed about nosy old men, and dirty walls I thought looked cool. We laughed about animals, braces and high heels, and we laughed about pretty much everything. By the end of the session my feet were sore from walking this little down from end to end, and my mouth was sore from all of the laughter. It was a good night. šŸ™‚

Here are a few of my many favoritesā€¦

Stephanie & Jason thanks for making the trip up to meet me. I really had a lovely time getting to know you guys, and of course laughing. I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. Your gallery will be done here shortly. For now I would love to throw down a blog challenge. I do this for all of my new clients. If you can get 30 people to comment on this blog post, I will throw in an 11Ɨ14 mounted wall print on the house. So leave some love folks.

Craig & Megan are FUN

So sometimes couples try to get out of engagement sessions. I totally get it, I hate being in front of the camera too. But I stress the importance of being comfortable with me, my style and my camera prior to a wedding day to my couples. I feel strongly that an engagement session is the perfect way to get all that awkwardness out of the way, so once the big day comes we are all ready to go. Also, engagement sessions are just fun. They are bonus images, they are usually way more casual and we all end up laughing by the end. I love getting to know my clients, and having them get to know me, so well, I make them do engagement sessions. šŸ˜‰

If people are still nervous after my spiel I offer to meet them for a drink prior. That is exactly what I did with Megan & Craig. We met at this great bar on Alberta St. in NE Portland. I knew the street would be the perfect backdrop for this creative & colorful couple. After a taco (or two) and a few drinks we set out to take some fun images on a warm early summer evening. I have to say I really like these two. They are funny, smart & we ended up with tons in common. Even a few names in common way back from my days working in the non-profit world. Walking around Alberta we found some great art, an amazing burnt out house, and even ran into people we knew along the way. I had tons of fun at this session, and I hope that shows in the images.

Craig & Megan thanks again for letting me convince you to do engagement photos. I had so much fun getting to know you guys. I am really looking forward to your wedding next month! I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. I am almost done with the entire set. For now I would love to throw down a blog challenge. I do this for all of my new clients. If you can get 30 people to comment on this blog post, I will throw in an 11Ɨ14 mounted wall print on the house. So leave some love folks.

She caught her self a good one!

Megan & Mitch first found me through a photographer friend of mine. She was already booked for their wedding date, and as we often to she wanted to refer them on to someone who she thought would be a good fit. She had previously worked with the family and was really hesitant to pass them off. Her email to me talked about how wonderful this couple was, how big their hearts were, and how great the entire family was. My friend, the other photographer literally gushed about these two.Ā  Once I finally got a chance to meet these two lovebirds I totally got it. They are adorable, sweet and extremely kind. Meganā€™s smile & laughter is infectious, and the way Mitch looks at Megan melts my heart. So when the time came around to do engagement photos I was excited to capture these two with my camera. Megan had big plans for our session, she wanted to include of of Mitchā€™s great loves (fishing) into her theme. So we hiked down to the river bank in the Tillamook National Forest and made some fun images. Megan is so crafty, she even brought props including an adorable hand sewn fish! For real, I adore these two.

On to the images!

Megan & Mitch I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. I just loved getting to know you two better. I will have the whole gallery done here for you shortly. For now I would love to offer you a blog post challenge. If you can get 30 people to comment on this post I will throw in an 11Ɨ14 wall print on the house! So leave some love for this adorable couple people.

Sarah + Neal = Love

If I had to use one word to describe Sarah & Neal it would be adventurous. From their course studies, to their hobbies, to their philanthropic ventures (hello building Libraries in Africa!). We had no shortage of topics to chat about while we were taking some fun engagement photos at the always fun Oregon Zoo. I had such a great time getting to know these two, and I loved that they were really up for anything! I am SO looking forward to their winter wedding in downtown Portland. It really will be an amazing event.

Here are a few of my favorites from our session together:
