Matthew + Alyssa = love

When Matthew & Alyssa first contacted me they let me know they had already done engagement photos with a photographer friend of mine. Due to her pregnancy timing she was unable to do their wedding. At the meeting we totally hit it off, and I was super excited to do the wedding this fall. As I said before they had already done some beautiful & romantic engagement photos, but as I always say none of my wedding clients get out of the pre-wedding portrait session, so we thought outside the box for our time together. The day of our meeting I had stumbled upon a quirky store down the street from my studio. The Portland Fixture Store really has a little bit of everything, shelving, signage, mannequins of all shapes & sizes, and so much more. I half jokingly brought it up to Mathew  & Alyssa as an option and they totally jumped on it. I LOVE an adventurous couple!  We had so much fun checking out the store and taking fun photos. We also ventured outside in the neighborhood and even down the street to Lippman’s Party Store. Such a fun day!

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Mathew & Alyssa thanks again for meeting up with me for photos, and being up for anything. I am really looking forward to your wedding this fall! I know it will be an amazing day! For now I would love to offer you a blog comment special. If you can get 30 people to comment on this post i will throw in an 11×14 wall print on the house. SO leave some love people!

Victora + Steve = love

Having only talked via email & phone I was really excited to meet Victoria & Steve. YOu see V&S spent the last few months relocating from across the country, changing homes, jobs & zip codes. It has been a big adventure, but these two have done it all with a smile. I love their spirit. Oh and having adorable puppy Bailey along for the ride helped a big I think. On top of moving these two have been planning their wedding at one of my all time favorite venues The Resort at the Mountain. After chatting more I am sure it is going to be an amazing day. After a beverage and a chat we got down to engagement photos.

Sarah + Drew = love

Oh, my, goodness I could say so many things about Sarah & Drew. About our talented mutual friends, or about our dancing conversations at past weddings. I could talk about how cute they are in front of the camera. Or I could talk about Sarah’s exuberance & determination in including a certain couch in the shoot I am about to show off. But… I don’t think I will.

I think I will just say that I adore these two. I love hanging out with them, I love pointing my big camera at them, and I love capturing the way they look at each-other. SO. MUCH. LOVE.

Clearly I am looking forward to their wedding in just a few short weeks, it is going to be off the charts amazing I can already tell.

Sarah & Drew thanks again for all of your energy & creativity and for being up for anything! I had so much fun with you two. Again I am totally looking forward to your wedding here in just a few short weeks. I know it will be amazing! As you know I love me some blog challenges. love on campus: an OSU engagement session

Third time is the charm with this engagement session! Brianna and I had to cancel & reschedule several times due to work schedules, threats of electrical storms and rain, but it finally happened. On one warm sunny day I drove down to Corvallis and finally met this lovely couple. How cute are they. Being college sweethearts they wanted do their session on the OSU campus. Being a life long Oregonian I was of course familiar with the Beavers, but I had never spent much time on this campus. I had no idea how beautiful it was! Such stunning buildings and grounds. Brianna &Jeff were perfect hosts. We had a great time wandering around campus and talking about wedding plans.

under construction, and loving it

When I first met with Marisa & Tim they were really not sold on the idea of an engagement session. I assured them of the importance of getting to know & working with your wedding photographer prior to the madness of the big day. I also said we could include any of their favorite hobbies & past times. They laughed and explained that all of their spare time (which is limited they are both young ambitious attorneys) was taken up with a large home improvement project. As most of us home owners know any time you start a project in the home, it takes 3 times as long and costs 3 times as much as originally planned. We all agreed it would be fun to start at their home and go ahead and capture this big part of their life. Again as a woman who also lives in a house under construction at all times I loved the challenge of documenting this time & their love among all the blue tape & paint. 🙂 From the house we took a walk through the neighborhood & down SE Hawthorne. It was a great night.
