welcome lovebirds

You know what I love more than a good hometown wedding? I love it when people fall in love with a small town not their own, but fall in love anyway. April and Josh fell in love with Red Ridge Farms and the surrounding towns. So even while they are across the country, they will be spending part of the summer with us here in the Dundee Hills to celebrate their love. As a Dundee Hills girl I love that. šŸ™‚

While they were in town a few weeks back I got to finally meet Josh, and do some engagement photos. Since the wedding photos will be up at the farm we chose to use downtown as the backdrop.Ā  I always love showing off our cute little community, and downtown.

April & Josh are adorable too, super sweet and lovely to capture. We had soĀ  much fun drinking coffee, talking about small towns and weddings. We even laughed at some wild travel stories. It was a great afternoon, I can not wait for the wedding!

April & Josh thanks again for coming out and hanging with me. It was a pleasure to get to know you two. I had so much fun, I can not wait for your wedding in the hills!

Katelin + Sam = Love

To say Katelin and Sam crack me up is an understatement. They are California kids yet they are die hard Oregon and Oregon state fans. They grew up in sunshine yet they long to live in the rainy weather of Oregon. They are getting married in Sunny Ca but were determined to do their engagement session in the Oregon winter. Sam is up here for school currently so it was great to catch them both while Kaitlin was in town.

In shortā€¦ I love them. How cute are they!

Friends since High School these two grew into more than friends and will make it all kids of official next year. I loved hearing about all their years of friendship and then beginning of their love story. These two have great chemistry as well, always a pleasure to capture! We had so much fun running around NW Portland, being goofy and talking weddings. I repeat SO. MUCH. Fun.

Katie + Amanda = Love

How cute are Katie & Amanda? For real these two have some sparking chemistry that was my pleasure to capture recently during their engagement session. We spent time on NE Alberta in the neighborhood they spent their first date. I had a great time hearing about matching cars, wedding plans, kids books and Boston Baseball. These two were so fun to spend time with and capture. I am so looking forward to their summer wedding!

thank you for a wonderful 2013!

I have been working on this post for days, and I am happy to say it is final ready!

2013 Was an amazing year here at Emily G Photography. Filled with new faces, a new website (!) new couples, new babies, and many back in front of the camera from years past. It was my pleasure to capture over 30 weddings, Over 40 newborns and over 45 families of all shapes and sizes. IĀ  was honored to capture several wonderful businesses in action, a few visionary business owners and new some new commercial buildings/spaces. My work was published both online and in several magazines.Ā  I was also greatly honored to capture the birth of some dear friends second child. it was such a pleasure to meet so many of you for the first time, and even more lovely to see SO MANY of you again this year. Watching new families start, and others grow is such a gift. It was a wonderful year for me both personally and professionally, and I want to thank you all for being such an important part of it. As my own little ones grow up so fast, and memories of my own wedding still get me misty eyed it is such an honor to be there to capture so many important moments in my clientā€™s lives. Putting together a ā€œbest ofā€ post made me smile, thank you all for that.

David + Jessica = Love

Dave & Jessica are ridiculously cool.

They are super smart (Heā€™s in Hi-Tech, shes in Medicine), hilarious and fun. And to top it off both super skilled at old school video games. For real, these two are awesome.

We met up on a chilly windy evening downtown recently to do some engagement photos. We raced around the waterfront and old town area for a bit before the sun went down, then headed into Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade for a bit. It was a great evening, even if my fingers did almost freeze off šŸ˜‰ Jessica & Dave were total spots about all of it.
