I clicked with Bryn & Scott from the get go, I just knew I had to shoot their wedding after our first meeting. Scott is a student of environmental studies, and Bryn spends her days helping foster kids of Oregon. They had such sweet things to say about my work, and even had kind words about my efforts with the Heart Gallery of Oregon! Both super sweet and mellow, they were planning a laid back but elegant wedding that sounded so fun to be a part of. Oh and to top it off their wedding location is one of the most picturesque venues in Oregon. When they contacted me to book I was stoked to be a part of their big day. This past weekend we met up again in Northwest Portland to shoot some fun engagement photos. We had a blast picking fun spots, sharing a few laughs and enjoying a few pints of great local micro brews.
It was a terrible task picking just a few for the peek, so here is what I got it weeded down two. Lots more to come!
they are so cute, and Scott I mean that in the manliest way possible. 😉
(a couple regular readers of mine *ahem sister in laws* might recognize this particular purple wall.)
though they were originally nervous about being in front of the camera after a little bit,(and a delicious pint) they warmed right up and were awesome in front of my camera.
I love this green wall, but to get the right angle I had to lay in the cement, hardcore I know. Not only did my gear almost get run over by some crazy old guy, I got up with tiny rocks all stuck to my face. I apparently was so into what I had just shot that I got a whole block away before Bryn was kind enough to point out I had crap all over my cheek. I felt just a bit silly, but I think the photos are worth it!
They are just so sweet together, I can not wait till the wedding later in the summer!
Bryn & Scott thanks again for spending a warm evening with me tromping around the Pearl! I had a great time getting to know you both better. I can already tell your wedding is going to be fantastic! And of course I know you are looking forward to setting up the new place this summer, so to help you out I will hook up a little comment challenge. If you can get 25 people to comment on this post I will cover an 11×14 wall print on the house! So leave some love people, these two are totally worth it.
xo em
amazing em…just three more days until we get to do this with you!! can’t wait!!
Wow… Too much good stuff in this one. Love the wall in the last one. The two verticals with the lime wall and leading line are hot. Rad all the way around!

Good for you Scotty in being photogenic instead of looking weird in pictures like me and others in this family. Should make for interesting wedding pics.

Emily, you did a terrific job on these photos. Sounds like you go all out to get a good look. I particularly like the colors in the wall behind in the last photo. Looking forward to the wedding pictures.

Emily, you’ve captured the essence of Bryn and Scott. The colors, the textures, and the emotion of the photos are EXQUISITE! (If only you could have been our wedding photographer 32+ years ago). Bryn and Scott, you look amazing & you picked a fabulous photographer for your Big Day!
