Anna & Matt are rockstars, there is no way to get around it.
On their wedding day it poured buckets, and they still brought the fun. Back a few months ago when we had our engagement session at the coast, you remember right? Our beautiful sunset beach session ended up a freezing fogged in session. We had fun anyway, and A&M rolled with it.
So when the weather reports started coming in mid week for rain on the big day I knew we would be alright. You see Anna & Matt are rockstars, a little rain, most couples would cry and move inside, Oh no, not here Matt went to target and bought 100+ umbrellas, and Anna bought cute rain boots! Rockstars I tell ya. A&M got married at the beautiful (albeit soggy) Oregon Gardens, in Silverton, Or.
Another Rockstar of the day would be my oh so talented 2nd shooter Ms Jenifer Johnston. Not only did she take some of the beautiful photos you see below, she endured a mini monsoon with our hardcore groom Matt, ran full speed through the gardens caring important gear, and also played florist when a boutonniere was crushed in a mad dash to escape the rain. Jen, you are also a rockstar.
I had an absolute blast with these two, so of course sit back this will be a super long peek.
Enjoy!
Anna’s details were all stunning, her dress, jewelry, even hair pin were just divine.
See what I mean? I loved her hair detail. She found it on one of my favorite websites of all time. www.etsy.com, ahh love it.
Anna is a physical therapist, so she spends most of her days in comfortable clothes. Well for her big day she went all out GLAM, and dang girl looked good!
See what I mean, glamorous!
The flowers were also incredibly beautiful, Anna you need to tell me the name of your florist again so I can give them some link love!
So while the girls were getting all glamorous, across the way the boys were… well.. getting ready with all kinds of fun.
Check out Matt’s details, you can tell his mind was on the weather and a certain pretty lady.
Matt is a pretty handsome bloke right!
***WARNING*** at some point during our “getting ready” shots Ms Jenifer’s camera was hijacked by a certain grooms man…
There are many, many more. Even some of the camera’s owner & yours truly. I could, and might at some point do an entire blog post about what happens when your camera gets hijacked by a charming and devious groomsman. FA I can not for the life of me remember your real name, but please do leave a comment below. I have some images that BEG to be tagged with you on facebook k!
I am pretty sure Jen took this one of Matt & his dad, but one can never know with all the camera thievery going on. 🙂
So to follow shortly I will be the first look photos, but really we have to set it up first. When Matt & Jen left the resort it was clear. It had been raining but we thought we had a little break going our way, so down the path they went. Anna and I were to follow a few moments later to set up a beautiful first look. Well about half way though the path the sky opened up and a mini monsoon let some crazy rain loose. Poor Jen & Matt had zero cover. They literally had to sprint through the gardens to find cover! This is also when Jen got to play boutonniere doctor. In between the downpours Anna & I walked down to the front of the garden, we got as far as the gift store when the sky opened up again. Uh yeah, we waited it out for a while. Poor Matt was probably wondering where the heck Anna was, and if we were going to show!
Well anyway, we got down there, and they got to see each other in their soggy yet glamorous glory.
I am pretty sure once we got the first look the weather decided to give us a break, from there on our during the portrait session around the garden it was clear skies with maybe a little sprinkling. Well… until the wedding that is.
Weather aside, they are so very lovely together!
We actually had lots of fun walking around the gardens. There are some amazingly beautiful spots there to shoot.
Have I mentioned how beautiful these two are? It always helps when a couple is not only fun, but smoking hot.
So pretty, you would never know it was just a bit after a downpour!
I had to get a few of miss Anna on her own. Girl you really did look amazing!
I loved these old trees, perfect for positioning a beautiful couple under.
And one last one of our lovely couple. They are just so awesome to roll with such a crazy start to their day. Much, much more to come for these two. They really did have the most amazing reception I have ever been a part of. I did peek just a few of them last week, more of the rockstars that are Anna & Matt soon! Thanks again you two for having us be there to capture your day. I will have more and then the whole gallery for you both soon!
xo em
Thank you Emily!! Not only did you girls take awesome pictures but you made the day that much more fun, fun is sometimes a hard thing to find in a photographer… You and Jen are a 10 on the fun scale! I’m really thankful that we found you, our pictures look amazing. You girls were awesome!
FA’s name is Andrew Primis, he’s on facebook.
Every wedding, as it evolves, takes on it’s own personality. As I look through your portfolio I can see you are able to capture that in each wedding you shoot. You certainly captured the personality of Matt and Anna’s wedding!! Thank you.
Your post cracked me up and put a huge smile on my face. This was such a fun fun wedding. I was so happy to get to join in on it even though I got soaked to the bone. It was so worth it. P.S. I took the shot of Matt and his dad not FA. LOL. xoxo Jen

Yah, rain.. probably not what most couples would want. But speaking in terms of lighting, you had the best softbox ever, the cloudy sky.
